Khosrow A.
Private tutor in Toronto, Canada
Education
I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Astrophysics from Princeton University, in the Department of Astrophysical Sciences. I am currently working toward finishing my Ph.D. thesis. I am also on a leave of absence from my Ph.D. candidacy in Public Policy at the University of Maryland.
Experience
I tutored high school students throughout my Ph.D. career. I have five years of experience in Canada, and even longer in the United States. I have tutored AP, I.B., and undergraduate and master's students in many areas of study, including physics, calculus, statistics, analysis, differential equations, and algebra. I have designed courses on Astronomy and Physics for non-Physics students. I have also been a Teaching Assistant for Physics and Astronomy courses. During one-one sessions, I am able to provide personalized, effective instruction that is tailored to the needs of a specific student. Students do not have to rush through the material during these meetings, as the pacing of sessions is based on their needs.

My current job involves explaining science to non-experts - I ensure a joyful experience and great results for students under my supervision. My rates vary based on the level of the course being taught. I have students from high school to graduate school. Note: Session are minimum of 1.5 hour long. Hourly rates (rule of thumb): * First Trial Session For All Levels (no commuting charge): $45 / hour * High School, First Year University: $65 / hour - $70 / hour (without a contract), 10% discount for 20 hour contracts (prepaid), 15% discount for 30 hour contracts (prepaid), 20% discount for 40 hour contracts (prepaid) NOTE: The rate goes up by $5 / hr per every year in university. The level of difficulty is measured by the equivalent in the major for the course. A physics course taken by a third year biology student might be equivalent to a first year physics course in department of physics. Contact 416-931-4178 for more information.
