Marcus R.
Private tutor in Toronto, Canada
Education
In my last year at York University working towards obtaining a Honours Double Major BA in Political Science and Law & Society at York University. I have a 7.9/9: A- GPA.
Experience
I am passionate about teaching, and have experience working with children in large groups. I have worked for the Youth Assisting Youth (YAY) Summer Camp, and continue to be a personal advisor or "Big Brother". I am also currently a volunteer at Woodgreen Community Services. As a volunteer at Woodgreen Community Services, I am given a personal client who needs help transitioning into Canada. More specifically, I help make his transition into Canada easier by helping him with his reading and writing skills necessary for job applications and tests. I am able to understand Filipino and French, but do not speak the languages fluently. I was a good student in high school (90% average) and was specially selected to be part of the Leadership Program at my school. The Leadership program mainly facilitated and organized most school events, fundraisers, and trips. I was also an active sports player and coach (basketball and track and field). I want to tutor because I value the one-on-one approach to learning, as it was always what helped me the most. I enjoy working with people and am particularly interested in subjects like Politics and Law.
