ExperienceI am a trained high school teacher, with experience working with students who have a variety of special needs. I spent a month teaching at an alternative school for at-risk Aboriginal youth in Ontario.
I have previous experience tutoring English language learners, as a peer mentor for first and second year university students, and I have tutored high school students struggling in a variety of subjects.
My strengths are helping students gain confidence, helping them access curriculum material in a way that is relevant and meaningful to them and teaching material to compliment different learning styles.
HobbiesI am from rural Ontario, and love being outside and exploring all the wonderful nature trails in Toronto! I enjoy hiking and biking all around the Don Valley.
I like to keep active and play a variety of sports including women's flat track roller derby!
I am a lover of the arts, and enjoy art exhibits, film festivals, plays, music and poetry.
I am also an animal lover. I grew up on a hobby farm with lots of animals around: dogs, cats, horses, goats and pigs! My favourite pets are pot-bellied pigs.
