EducationI received by Bachelors of Arts (Honours) in Psychology from Queen's University in 2011. After graduating, I continued my study of psychology at George Brown College, where I studied Applied Behaviour Analysis.
ExperienceI have tutored psychology statistics on and off for the past 3 years, in addition to some grade 12 high school courses (psychology, health and nutrition).
My experience in tutoring is largely with first and second year psychology undergraduate statistics, including the following:
- Measures of central tendency
- Hypothesis testing
- T-tests (one-sample, independent, paired/related)
- ANOVA (one-way, two-way, repeated-measures)
- Linear Regression
- Nonparametric Testing
I have taken basic and advanced undergraduate statistics, courses in research methods and design, and completed an undergraduate honours thesis.
I enjoy tutoring because statistics is a required course for many undergraduates and it is often one of the most intimidating courses for psychology majors who are uncomfortable with mathematics. I enjoy demystifying the methods and formulas used in statistics for students and helping them succeed in a subject that may be required to continue their studies.
HobbiesWhen I am not tutoring I spend a lot of time playing volleyball, reading, and gardening.
I enjoy cooking and baking, although this often takes the back burner during exam time when I am busy helping students.

Mark was awesome! I felt really nervous about statistics and had a lot of trouble with the concepts until I contacted Mark. He was able to help me and explain the concepts to me so that I could easily understand them. In particular, he really helped me work through and succeed at a class test and in my lab assignments. I did way better after I got a chance to work with Mark. He was also very friendly and available, and always responded to my messages quickly.
