ExperienceI have 2 years experience in teaching ESL in a English Language School in downtown Toronto.
I have successfully completed the Canada & OntarioTeaching English as a Second language programs.
I have worked as a undergraduate Biology Lab Instructor at Concordia University for 20 years. I have extensive experience tutoring undergraduate and graduate students in Biology and Lab Report Prep. I also have mentored and tutored graduate students in preparation for their thesis defence and writing. I also have tutored high school level students in science and in preparation for both individual and group science presentations. I have developed and facilitated many science-related workshops and hands-on displays for summer camps and science fairs. I have volunteered at the Centre for Biodiversity at the ROM.
I believe that my extensive experience in research and teaching at the university level has provided me with both knowledge and expertise that can help students with the academic challenges they face. My recent TESL accreditation and ESL teaching experience can help foreign students who also face the challenge of language in their pursuit of academic success.
HobbiesI enjoy drawing and painting and everything ART. I have an interest in Chinese culture and practice meditation and Tai Chi. I believe I was born to teach and look forward to the opportunity of sharing my knowledge. I have been told by my students over the years that I have a knack of making difficult concept easy to understand, and fun too!
