Education
I have attended a variety of educational institutions, allowing me the opportunity to learn diverse subjects through many styles of teaching. This has also encouraged my social development and resulted in my amicable approach to new relations. • Humber College Creative Book Publishing Program (summer of 2013): I learned the craft of publishing with regards to both an overview of all the facets of publishing, and a specialization in marketing, agency, and editorial. • University of Guelph Bachelor of Arts, Honours Philosophy Degree (2007 to 2012): I began University with an entrance scholarship as a Major in Animal Biology, I then studied Environmental Biology, and have graduated with a degree majoring in Philosophy. This diverse background has exposed me to, and allowed me to focus upon, mathematics, logic, problem-solving and creative writing. I am creative, adaptable, and was dependable to my professors, earning me a ninety percent for my final thesis project. • Mentor College (2004 to 2007): While attending Mentor College I received the Marine Biology and Physics awards as well as honours certification every year.
Experience
Cormorant Books: 10 St. Mary Street, Suite 615 I worked as an intern at Cormorant Books from August until December of 2013. My responsibilities went beyond that of a typical internship as I was entrusted with increasingly important tasks. These ranged from proof-reading that verged on editing to writing jacket and catalogue copy, presenting titles to the sales force, design, publicity duties, writing author interviews, reviewing submissions, and even making selections for the Writers’ Reserve grant applications. My coworkers came to depend on me and solicit my advice, extending my internship beyond the initial three months and including me in company meetings as an equal. I am thrilled to have received acknowledgment in Greg Kearney’s novel, The Desperates, for my role in its timely and smooth publication. Freelance Editing: I have taken on a number of freelance editorial projects since completing my Humber College publishing certificate; these range from editing and providing consultations on undergraduate essays to creating executive summaries for RBC and writing reader’s reports for Simon & Schuster Canada. Writing Experience During my final year of University I was a freelance writer for humanswers.net on the subject of philosophy. This allowed me to exercise my creative and analytic abilities as well as cultivate my academic integrity. My articles required rigorous research abilities in communion with a clear and articulate writing style. In the last year I have begun submitting poetry and short stories to writing competitions and publishers and have had work appear in Ascent Aspirations, Town-Crier (published by The Puritan), and Feathertale Magazine. I have also made numerous speaking appearances for a variety of literary reading series over the last year, allowing me to hone my public-speaking skills and stage-presence.

Hobbies
I'm an animal lover, a 'foodie', a huge fan of music (and culture in general), and (when I can spare the time and money) an avid traveller. I play a few instruments and would probably classify as a classic nerd; though, I did play hockey and rugby growing up, so not too many people would call me that.
