Private tutor in Toronto, Canada
Education
My name is Zachary Feld and I am originally from Markham, Ontario, just north of Toronto. I was a member of the Honour Society at Thornhill Secondary School and was the recipient of the President's Entrance Scholarship at the University of Waterloo. I attended the University of Waterloo for the Honours Mechanical Engineering Co-operative Program. I graduated in 2011 with Distinction and was on the Dean's Honour List. Since graduating I have worked as a Forensic Investigator in the field of Collision Reconstruction. I am a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), a member of The Canadian Association of Technical Accident Investigators and Reconstructionists (CATAIR), a member of Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), and I hold a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) licence.
Experience
Throughout high school and university I often tutored friends of mine in the mathematically based classes we took together. I enjoyed tutoring them for a number of reasons. First off, from a young age I have liked logical thinking and problem solving which are components of the various mathematical disciplines. Secondly, tutoring the coursework for a course I was also taking at the time helped reinforce my understanding of the material, which I found advantageous for me when it came to writing tests and exams. Lastly, and probably the most satisfying, I was helping my friends and fellow classmates to understand concepts and instill confidence in their own abilities. In addition to tutoring friends and classmates, I have also mentored and assisted my three younger siblings as they go through the schooling system. My two brothers are two and eight years younger than me and my sister is 10 years younger than me. Over the years there have been numerous in person chats, emails, phone calls, and Skype calls as they know they can come to me for assistance and support as they prepare for a math test. I have found this experience to be beneficial to me as I was able to help them with their work during the various stages of development. My first brother recently finished a research project at Baycrest Hospital and just started a Masters Degree in Physiotherapy at Queen's University. My second brother just started his first year of Engineering at Queen's University. My sister is in grade 12 and loves telling me every time I go home to my parents house that she just got another 95 to 100 percent on her recent math test. Since September of 2014, I have been working full time as a math and physics tutor to students primarily in high school, but also students in elementary school, post-secondary school, and mature students. My education and tutoring experience enables me to provide assistance and guidance to students who want a better understanding of their math course work or who want to excel beyond their current level.

Hobbies
In addition in-person tutoring I also provide online tutoring using the Skype video chat platform. I have a tablet I connect to my computer and as I write, the text appears in real time on your monitor. This tutoring method works well when travel distance can be an obstacle or when a quick question needs a quick response. I also have began compiling a video library of how-to video to get through high school math, which are available on my website (www.ZacsTutoring.com). Being the Canadian boy I am, I'm into hockey (and yes, the Maple Leafs). I am also fascinated by the automotive world and get great satisfaction from completing a hands-on project. Lastly, I enjoy photography, especially of the countryside north of the city. My strong skills in mathematics have been key to my success. If you are looking to improve your mathematical aptitude feel free to contact me. For more information about me, feel free to visit my website at www.ZacsTutoring.com.
