Education

I received my Master of Science in Astronomy & Astrophysics degree from the University of Toronto in 2017. I also graduated with Honours from McGill University with a Bachelor of Physics.

Experience

I have extensive experience in tutoring and teaching math and science. I love tutoring: few are the things that make me happier than successfully helping a student in their academic and career goals. In, the past, while tutoring, I helped students with problems they experienced in physics, mathematics, and programming. I guided them to extra resources to deepen their knowledge and I organized and lead online tutoring sessions over Skype with both high school and college students. From 2014 to 2017, I was worked at the University of Toronto as a teaching assistant. During this time I organized and lead independent tutorial sessions in college astrophysics courses (AST 101, AST 201, and AST 251). I summarized and presented class material in interactive sessions with the students. I helped students with their misconceptions to successfully improve their grades. And I provided individual guidance to students for whom group sessions were not sufficient. I also worked at McGill University as a mathematics and physics tutor from 2011-2014. During that time, I provided help to physics undergraduate students, as part of the Physics Help Desk. I also mentored students individually in order to succeed in their math and physics classes, and I assisted students with relevant studying strategies and information resources. Additionally, I also worked at Vanier College as a mathematics and science tutor from 2009 until 2011. While working there, I independently organized tutorial sessions on high school science and math. I provided aid to students in need and helped them succeed with their academic goals. And I developed individualized teaching strategies, depending on the student's needs.

Hobbies

Outside of teaching, I love programming. I am currently building a portfolio to become a data scientist, learning artificial intelligence in my spare time. I'm also a bit of a cinephile and enjoy a lot of arthouse cinema or whatever is playing at The Royal. I also really like board games and have a small, though constantly growing, collection at home.
