Viktoriya Z.
Private tutor in Toronto, Canada
Education
I was the valedictorian of my graduating class in 2015 at Bronte College. I have a Bachelor of Applied Science degree with a major in Civil Engineering (Structural Stream) and a minor in Business from the University of Toronto.
Experience
I have experience tutoring CIV100 Mechanics, CME210 Solid Mechanics, CIV312 Steel, and Timber Design, and CIV313 Reinforced Concrete, which are all courses at the University of Toronto. I have also tutored grades 10 to 12 in math at Bronte College High School, as well as previous tutoring experience in math for grades 5 to 10. As a tutor, I demonstrated excellent verbal communication skills and helped my students achieve a minimum grade of an A- in their courses. I scheduled tutoring appointments with students and provided feedback to their parents in order to emphasize their success and address their learning challenges. I would also consult my students about their academic choices to help them ensure their success. Furthermore, I have researched textbooks, software, and different teaching methodologies so that I can accommodate each student's individual needs. I have been helping students understand and master challenging concepts for the past 4 years.

Hobbies
Throughout my academic career I have been helping my peers with challenging concepts. I like helping others and I am good at explaining challenging topics in simple terms. I approach problems by breaking them down into simpler, more attainable parts and explaining the student how these concept correlate. I also like to provide visuals, where necessary, to facilitate clear problem statement understanding. I believe that understanding basics as lots of practice are the keys to student success.
