Tony W.
Private tutor in Toronto, Canada
Education
Hi, I'm Tony. I am currently an MA Student in the Library and Information Science at the University of Toronto, and a graduate from the University of Winnipeg with a major in philosophy and rhetoric. Throughout my academic career I have maintained a GPA of 4.1 or higher.
Experience
I have several years of tutoring experience at the University of Winnipeg's writing centre, usually taking a few one-hour sessions per week during the academic year from 2014 to 2017. I have taken the relevant training and classes, and have real-life experience with communicating complex ideas (such as instructor expectations, how to construct an argument, etc.) to students with limited experience or institutional support. I may not be the right tutor for you if you feel like you need rudimentary guidance, but I'm confident that if you are struggling with understanding how to develop and support complex ideas I will be able to help you improve your writing, especially in fields like philosophy, social sciences, and so forth. I can appreciate how difficult making the jump to writing higher-level papers can be, and I find it very satisfying when I see students I work with get better at putting their ideas into words and impress their profs.

Hobbies
I'm a pretty quiet person overall and I really do enjoy reading philosophy and stuff in my free time, and I'm not just saying that to impress prospective clients lol. I live near Danforth Village and am available basically anywhere in the downtown Toronto area.
