I have a masters degree in politics from the Munk School of Global Affairs at the University of Toronto and I love everything about research and writing. I finished my masters degree with a 4.0 GPA and won three major research awards last year. Before my academic career, I worked a journalist at the Toronto Star for two years, and I earned a Bachelor of Journalism from Ryerson University.

In my professional life, I've worked at Human Rights Watch as a researcher, the University of Toronto as a research assistant, and for several organizations in Norway. Currently, I'm the deputy editor for the Arctic Institute, a non-profit organization that connects scholars from all over the world and publishes their academic work. I'm hoping to start a PhD in Russian History in fall 2020 at Columbia University. Do you find writing essays and proposals intimidating? Hobbies
In my spare time I enjoy hiking, biking, swimming, and curling up with a good book. I currently live in Brooklyn, NY, and walking around the city and looking at architecture is one of my favourite things to do. I try to travel as much as possible, and I love learning about other cultures. My work as a graduate student and researcher has made it possible for me to visit over 15 countries in the last two years, and it's been amazing. One of the most unique places I've been is Svalbard, an island in the Norwegian Arctic - I loved it so much I wrote my masters thesis about it!
