I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy from The New School University in New York City, having recently graduated on the Dean's List with a 3.95 GPA and much praise for my Thesis and my other essay work.

Experience

Being a philosophy tutor is a way for me to continue to engage with people philosophically. In all the philosophy classes I took I always enjoyed taking a leading role in the class discourse. My enthusiasm and my critical and helpful voice were rewarded with an invitation to be an Academic Fellow for the undergraduate philosophy department at the New School and a nomination to be a Teaching Fellow for Eugene Lang College, the Humanities division of the New School. My areas of familiarity and special interest are broad: *20th Century Philosophy (for example: Heidegger, Sartre, Foucault, Bachelard, Merleau-Ponty, Husserl, Camus, Freud, Wittgenstein...) *Early Modern Philosophy (for example: Descartes, Leibniz, Spinoza, Rousseau, Diderot, Locke, Hobbes, Kant, Hume...) *Ancient Philosophy (for example: Plato and Socrates, Aristotle, the stoics, Seneca, Marcus Aurelius, Epicurus...) *18th and 19th Century German Philosophy (for example: Nietzsche, Fichte, Schiller, Lessing...) *Philosophy of Language *Philosophical Exploration of Literature, Poetry, Film, and Painting (I have written about Shakespeare, Bergman, Picasso, Fairfield Porter, Louis Malle, Goethe) *Reading philosophy deeply, and developing elegant responses to philosophical problems in the essay form.
