Experience

my biggest passion: languages. I have been speaking and parsing foreign languages for 15 years. Other than my mother tongue Russian. I speak: English, French, Spanish, and I am in the process of acquiring two more languages: Mandarin and Italian. You may think, wow that girl, she might have a talent for languages or just very good memory. Well, not really. I actually have a bad memory, however, it didn't stop me from learning all of these languages on my own. More than that, I also became a certified French/English interpreter, an author of the “Fast French” methodology and co-founder of one of the top private language schools in Toronto, Canada – Vive la France Language Training which won the Top Choice Award in 2012. I had always been absorbing languages without really wondering why what I did was so effective. I just did it. Then I started “cogitating”, thinking, and I ended up looking for information on the “language learning” issue from a scientific point of view. That is how ended up getting a Linguistic Degree at University – I wanted to get the answers to my numerous questions. However, the more I studied, the more books on Language Learning Methods I read, the more I was sure that only one conclusion is possible: languages cannot be taught, they can only be learned. Everything turns around the learner and his/her passion, drive. My name is Julia Bond. I founded Vive la France back in 2005 when I moved to Canada 8 years ago. Even though I had my Bachelor in Linguistics and taught French in Russian Public School for 6 months, I didn't have a clue that there might be a huge demand for French Help here in Canada. More than that, I was 100% positive that Canadians are bilingual and my profession is not going to be very popular. Believe it or not I was seriously considering to change my career and become an Accountant. I was wrong. Luckily, very soon I realized how bad the situation with French was in Public Schools. I decided to move in that direction and very soon got another degree in French and even became an Ontario certified Interpreter. For the last 2 years I was working on my personal project - Fast French. where I offer my students to learn a language in 3 weeks. I have seen children doing their best, even getting A-s, but not able to communicate in French after years of studying at a basic level. The pace at which French grammar was given was crazy! Parents were frustrated with the amount of work their over-scheduled children were forced to do at school. There is no way a child can handle so much stress and why should they? 99% of the kids don't remember anything they learned at school anyway! I thought to myself that there is definitely something wrong here and I need to fix it. Dear parents, there is a big problem with educational system in Canada, so please don't put even more pressure on your children. Help them overcome this stress instead. There are 3 ways you can possibly help them : 1. One of the biggest problems parents and teachers face - is the motivation. Try to encourage your child to speak another language. The best thing you can do here is to travel with your child to the French speaking country or to Quebec province and let your child experience the culture and the language. Another great way to foster in your child love to another language is French Immersion Summer Camp, where they can communicate in French on a daily basis. Almost 90% of the students I had, came initially to me thinking French is not cool and very boring. In the camp where they meet other kids of the same age they change this attitude. However if they don't know a word in French that may be a problem! 2. Enroll your child in VLF French Group class. After over 8 years of experience in teaching French in Canada, my team and I, developed special training programs for children. Your child will significantly improve in French and will develop love to that subject. The program works and I can guarantee it with 100% money back policy. Our techniques are highly interactive, and targeted to improve associative memory, creativeness and imagination of your child. These courses are based on a practical relevance, oral comprehension and a conversational approach. Try it at no risk! By the way, in 2012 VLF Language Training was awarded by Top Choice as the top French Private School in Toronto. 3. You can search for other schools and hire a tutor to come to your house once or twice a week. In terms of the cost, you may find these classes very attractive. But, considering the fact that this business growing up like crazy, and more and more francophone immigrants come to Canada and start with tutoring as a survival job, I cannot personally guarantee the quality of their teaching. However it is one of the options I can offer you!
