Phil M.
Private tutor in Toronto, Canada
Education
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Biomedical Science, with a focus on neuroscience. I've also completed a 2-year diploma in General Arts & Science.
Experience
I am currently working as a full-time Technical Writer for a pharmaceutical company. I've tutored an array of students in various forms of Reading, Writing, and English Grammar. I was also a peer tutor when I was going to Humber College. I tutored students in subjects such as Critical Thinking, English Literature, Introductory Psychology, and Academic Composition (grammar, essay writing, research [MLA/APA]). I continued tutoring part-time throughout my university career at York, and on to this very day. Recently, I have been working extensively with ESL students to provide them with aid in developing their English conversational skills. All lessons are one-on-one. For ESL conversational lessons, we can meet in person somewhere in the city and have a casual walk-and-talk, or we can sit down somewhere and have a more formal lesson. If you cannot make it in-person, we can have Skype sessions. I leave this up to you, the student. I'd like to continue tutoring while being a full-time employee because some of my best life experiences derived from tutoring students in need of help. I gain significant satisfaction from helping students achieve their goals. It has also become a vision of mine to one day operate my own ESL tutoring business.
