Experience
For more than 14 years I've had the privilege of tutoring many students at all levels of music theory in a wide range of theory subjects to help build their knowledge and strong skills resulting in improved academic performance, Theory subjects include rudiments, all levels of harmony, modal and tonal counterpoint, and structural analysis. Additionally, I tutor students in dictation, ear-training and sight-singing. Lessons will be designed to meet your needs by helping you prepare for the demands of university-level music theory courses and improving your grades. During lessons I will help you to understand concepts, provide strategies, write thorough and organized notes, complete assignments and prepare for tests/exams. I spent four amazing years at the University of Western Ontario (UWO) completing a Bachelor of Music with Honours in Theory and Composition where I had the opportunity to study with several outstanding pianists and composers. Most valuable of all was the opportunity to study several theory subjects including advanced chromatic harmony, structural analysis, modal and tonal counterpoint, Schenkerian analysis, and post-tonal theory. I recently completed a Master of Music in Conducting at the University of Toronto. As a conductor of several orchestral and choral ensembles at the university I had the tremendous honour of collaborating with and mentoring many very talented and passionate musicians. During both my degrees I was the recipient of numerous honours, awards and fellowships for academic performance. In addition to my academic experience I've sung for several years as a member of the Amadeus Choir where I've collaborated with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra in a number of programmes. I've participated in several master classes, including most recently as part of the Princeton Festival at Princeton University in New Jersey. I've also been fortunate enough to work with the Royal Conservatory of Music and the Canadian Opera Company on their outreach and education initiatives. I love teaching and being able to impart my passion for music to students! I'm flexible with traveling to meet you for lessons where and when it's convenient. If you think you'd benefit from some guidance don't hesitate to give me a shout! Lessons are $35 per hour.

Hobbies
I love music, but that's not all! I love to explore the world and have been lucky enough to travel to some awesome places including the Isle of Man, Israel, Austria (including Vienna, the great city of music), Hungary, Italy (the Tuscan countryside, Cinque Terre and Vivaldi's city are a must!) and Malta (one of Europe's best kept secrets - until now). Still so many places to see... Let's see...I love animals, especially my dogs Deja and Chip and have spent more time on YouTube watching animal movies than I would like to admit. I'm a mean cooking machine and cook up a storm at least once a week. Favourite tv show: Fresh Prince of Bel-Air! I'm also fascinated by the world of economics and business and I am active in the financial sector of Toronto's business community.
