I have a bachelor's degree in English Literature from Tyndale University, which included a semester abroad at Oxford University, England. I graduated with distinction, and the gold medal in English. I earned a GPA of 3.94 (of 4). I am also a certified CELTA teacher (English as a Second Language).
Experience
I have been a tutor at Tyndale University in Toronto, where I assisted foreign language students with their English studies. I have been a class-room instructor in Toronto, teaching English as a second language to multi-lingual classes. I lived for eight months in Croatia, giving English language classes, and acting as a private tutor for a family, assisting their children with literature and art. I also have a wider teaching experience in non-academic areas, including art, swimming, and dance. During my studies, I spent much of my time assisting my classmates with their assignments, coaching and editing their work, which enhanced my abilities as a tutor. I graduated from Tyndale with distinction, and my semester at Oxford University concentrated on drama and Shakespearean studies. Since I completed my BA, I have been traveling in Europe, including two months in Ireland, where I acted as a private tutor for a young family, teaching their eldest son.
