Education

I am currently in my first year of law school at Western University. I also studied English Literature at Queen's University. In 2015-2016, I made the Dean's List with Distinction (ranking in the top 3% of all students in an undergraduate Arts program). I wrote the LSAT in June 2014, scoring a 175 on my first attempt. I have worked as a part-time tutor (averaging 20h/week) since the summer of 2014.

Experience

For the last several years, I have worked as a part-time tutor for students preparing for their LSATs, SATs, ACTs, and SSATs. I have also worked with students to improve their performance at school. I have worked with children in elementary school, as well as high school and university-aged clients. I have experience working with adults seeking to improve their written communication and spoken language skills. I am a well-rounded tutor. My breadth of experience has make me an adaptable instructor, able to tailor my educational strategies to suit students' needs. I am an experienced LSAT tutor who earned a 175 (99th percentile) on the June 2014 test. I have recent, in-depth exposure to test material and several years of tutoring experience working with both struggling and high-performing students, offering instruction responsive to their diverse learning styles and academic objectives. I am able to tailor test prep sessions to help you best address your particular areas of concern. If you are interested in working with a successful test-taker to improve your LSAT score in an environment that offers more flexibility and individual attention than group classes can provide, I would be happy to further discuss what I can offer.

Hobbies

I love public speaking! In addition to tutoring the subjects I've listed above, I also teach debating to middle and high school students. I've competed on behalf of Queen's University all over the world, and was selected to judge the Grand Open Final at the 2015 World Universities Debating Championship, held in Kuala Lumpur. I majored in English at university, and have a particular passion for teaching literary analysis and close-reading. I know how to make literary analysis accessible and concrete. My love for the subject comes through in my teaching—nothing makes me happier than helping a student discover a passion for literature that they didn't know they had.
