During graduation, I began tutoring part time in India, and after tutoring there for a year, I began graduate school in Canada. I’m currently in my second year of the program, anticipating graduation this year. The tutoring experience I had in India has made me patient and understand my students better in a way that nothing else could have. Teaching for the first time was nearly painless for me because it was just a simple transition from the tutoring that I’d done. I think my tutoring experience played a big role in getting me accepted into the grad school here, and I know for a fact that tutoring has helped me to be a better, more confident teacher and grad student.
