Experience
I have had the opportunity to teach grades 3-12 in Kenya, Africa. I taught a variety of subjects including math, science, English, social studies, physical education and history. I also volunteered in Kibera Slum educating the members there about health and wellness. Moreover, I volunteered in a night school teaching men that could not afford an education when they were children in reading and writing. After spending two summers working in Kenya, Africa with children in the community and as a teacher at a local school, I have gained a substantial amount of experience in working with children. As a teacher, I had to create daily lesson plans, and ensure that my program planning and delivery was suitable for all the children in my classes. I had to communicate daily with other teachers, and work in an interdisciplinary team, in order to have a well-rounded understanding on each student’s needs and guide them towards success. I have also had the opportunity to tutor children and teenagers in Canada in a variety of subjects.

I am currently working in the social work field, however would like to continue providing tutoring services as this is a passion of mine. In addition, I enjoy playing sports such as ball hockey and volleyball and attending yoga on a weekly basis.
