Education
I have a Ph.D. in German Studies/German Literature from the University of Toronto with a specialization in Holocaust studies, memory and memorialization, history, literature, museum studies and disability studies. I also have an MA in German Language and Literatures from the University of Toronto. I earned a BAH in German and Geography with a Minor in Business German at Queen's University. In addition, I took extensive pedagogy courses from institutions including Goethe-Institut.
Experience
I have 4 years of experience as an Assistant Professor in German and German Studies at the University of New Brunswick teaching literature, history, culture, and language courses. I also have 8 years of experience as an instructor and TA at the University of Toronto. In addition, I have a year of experience teaching English at a high school in Germany, 3 years of experience teaching high school courses (including IB) in Toronto, and 10 years of experience with private and group tutoring. I teach both in-person and online. As I learned German in a classroom setting and through various exchange opportunities, I love to convey my passion for all things German and have been rewarded with several teaching award nominations. Having taught at two Universities and in High Schools, I am well prepared to set you up for success, and I am very familiar with how to have to advance you in your studies!
