I hold a Master's of Business Administration (MBA) in Accounting as well as a Juris Doctor (JD - Law). I am also a Certified Management Accountant candidate (I've completed the board report and individual case exam).
Experience
As Vice President and Senior Legal Counsel for a major Canadian financial institution, I developed strong communications skills and a desire to pursue greater financial acumen. I was able to use these communications skills to break down accounting concepts into plain language and assist many of my MBA colleagues to excel in their financial and managerial accounting courses. Some highlights from my career experience include working as a teaching assistant for intermediate financial accounting (master's level), 5+ years of experience negotiating capital markets contracts for major financial institutions and over a year of reporting and analysis in the financial services sector.
