I first achieved my BSc in Biology, Neuroscience, and Psychology at the University of Windsor, earning an A+ GPA and graduating with distinction. I then attended Yale University and the University College of London, earning a joint MSc degree in Psychology and Neuroscience.
Experience
I am available for online tutoring and essay/assignment/writing feedback. I provide detailed comments and advice on writing drafts on essay structuring (e.g. flow, paragraphs), essay argument & thesis (e.g. are you clearly and strongly making your point and providing enough evidence for your argument?), writing clarity & style, grammar, punctuation, & spelling, proper citation and formatting (e.g. APA, MLA, Chicago), and comprehension (e.g. have you understood the material you're writing about, such as research findings or concepts?). I've helped many university and high school students boost their grades by providing feedback on drafts of their work. Many students have great ideas but struggle to clearly express them in writing or need support as they adapt to post-secondary academic writing expectations. Feedback on a draft or two (or more!) can vastly change the outcome. My aim is to explain how you can improve your writing so you are learning skills that will continue to help you throughout all your courses. :) In addition to tutoring, I have taught a university course in academic writing & grammar. I have advanced research and academic writing skills, with experience across subjects in the social, behavioral, and health sciences, so I can provide writing feedback for most essay topics. I have 8 years of academic and professional experience in both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and have successfully published academic papers. I LOVE to teach and I am very dedicated to tailoring my approaches to each individual student's learning styles. Because of my training in developmental psychology, I am especially adaptive to learning disabilities and diverse learning styles. I have also helped many students with grad school apps: I'm happy to look at your applications and provide feedback!
