For the past four summers I have co-led School Readiness Workshops aimed at teaching children with behavioural and emotional disorders critical social and cognitive skills. I am comfortable teaching high school sciences (preferable biology and chemistry), up to grade 10 level math and university genetics. I am also comfortable teaching elementary and middle school students. I have 5 years experience working with a younger demographic (at Ontario Early Years Centres). I graduated top of my class in genetics (I received the Western Gold Medal for my academic accomplishments). In my last two years of my undergraduate studies I tutored genetics. I really love this subject! I spent two years working with Tudor Doctor (a professional tutor company) and really enjoyed my experience with them!

Hobbies

I spend most of my free time volunteering at an Ontario Early Years Centre co-running School Readiness and Family Literacy workshops, and volunteering at the Toronto Distress Centre as a crisis line volunteer. I currently work in a genetics lab at the Mars Discovery District downtown doing fertility research using the model organism C. elegans (a TINY TINY worm). I spend most of my days on the microscope and love it! I am a very crafty - from scrapbooking to at home DIYs. I find crafting incredibly helpful when work gets too overwhelming. I love to travel - so far my favourite place has been Chefchaouen, Morocco! I Recently spent a month in Colombia - a fantastic country with amazing people! I could not recommend these two counties more!
