I received an Hons. Degree from the University of Toronto, majoring in both English and Women and Gender Studies. I graduated with a 4.0 on a 4.0 scale. I also have an MA in Critical Disability Studies. This program is situated in both the Health Studies and Humanities department at York University.
Experience
I have a passion for academia and a background in professional writing, social justice, and feminist and art organizing. As a graduate student, I teach a foundations of health class at York University and have privately tutored special needs students, high school students, and university level students needing extra help in the social sciences and humanities. My other relevant experience includes working as a Note Taker and Assistant for a student with intellectual disabilities at Ryerson University. I also have experience providing tutoring to a high needs student needing essay writing help and assistance preparing for exams along with tutoring high school age students in English and History courses I have also worked as a Research Assistant, an Archivist, a Co-Editor for an independent publication, a Co-organizer for a panel discussion in conjunction with an art exhibition, and a Co-organizer for many different types of events.
