Experience
I hold a Ph.D. degree in Statistics from Western University in London, Canada. I have taught in the Department of Statistical and Actuarial Sciences at Western University (Western) and the Department of Statistical Sciences at The University of Toronto (U of T), most recently in 2018. The courses ranged from second-year to graduate student level. I have been responsible for all the aspects involved in the delivery a university credit course including: planning the lectures, tutorials, assignments, tests and marking schemes. I have provided extensive contact time outside of class to students, through office hours and emails and have invigilated final exams and managed the submission of the final course grades. While an undergraduate student in mathematics at University of Guelph, I worked as a tutor in the Department of Mathematics Help Centre, one of few undergraduate students offered this opportunity and responsibility. As a graduate student at Western, my teaching assistantships involved tutoring undergraduate students for ten hours per week as well as marking assignments and examinations. I am also an ongoing attendee of The Mathematics Education Forums and Quantitative Finance Seminar Series held at The Fields Institute for Research in Mathematical Sciences at the University of Toronto. I also have extensive experience working as an industrial mathematician. As a quantitative analyst in the financial industry, I specialized in financial product valuation and risk model development, model validation, and risk model management. Most recently, I held a position as Senior Manager, Model Validation and Management at TD Bank Group. I also served as an educator and mentor for junior analysts, given my educational background and industrial experience, and was frequently asked to assist other team members with their technical and documentation duties.
