Education

I have a Master of Applied Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toronto with a GPA of 4.0/4.0. My thesis was on Emulsification by Penetration of Particles from Water into Diluted Bitumen. I also have a Bachelor of Technology degree in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Guwahati, India. My thesis was on the dynamics of thin polymer films on functional surfaces.

Experience

I am a chemical engineer with more than 7 years of experience in transport phenomena and computational fluid dynamics(CFD). In the past, my work experience revolved around the applications of transport phenomena at the micro-scale (microfluidics) for nanotechnology, bioengineering, point-of-care diagnostics, and interfacial engineering. My current work focuses on using CFD tools to design evaluations and optimization, the development of new engineering processes and technologies, and troubleshooting of existing operations. As a teaching assistant at the University of Toronto, I conducted weekly tutorials and review sessions for Separation Processes (CHE311). During my undergraduate years, I was a coordinator and volunteer for a program teaching underprivileged students for 4 years. Along with courses related to Chemical Engineering and Process Engineering, I can also tutor Calculus, Numerical Methods, CFD Software (ANSYS Fluent, COMSOL Multiphysics), and Data Analysis using Excel. Courses I have previously tutored through UniversityTutor include CHE322: Process Dynamics and Control, as well as MIE210: Thermodynamics.
