Education
I have a Bachelor of English from York University where I majored in English, History, and Creative Writing, as well as achieving a 4.0 GPA. My studies had a heavy focus on writing essays, analysis of literature (fiction, poetry, etc.), as well as Canadian, American, and British time periods/literature. I also have a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Toronto majoring in English and History and an intermediate focus on grades 7 to 12. I achieved a GPA of 4.0.
Experience
I have completed an Honors English AQ course at Queen's University with an A+ grade which enables me to work as a Department Head of English. I have experience tutoring many different university-level English courses at York University including Literary Theory, Poetry and Poetics, Shakespeare, Canadian Literature, Contemporary Literature, and The Romantics. I have experience as an ESL Specialist and have also completed Part 1, 2, and 3 of the ESL course at the University of Toronto, achieving an A or an A+ for all courses. I have spent 3 years working in two different Inuit communities and at a school that had three different languages. I have also taught both teenagers and adults English at levels ranging from absolute beginner to advanced. These students were all from different countries including, China, Japan, Russia, Spain, and many more. I have also previously taught ESLAO, ESLBO, ESLCO, ESLDO, and ESLEO. I have teaching licenses for both Ontario and Quebec.
