Cass F.
Private tutor in Toronto, Canada
Education
Miami University - B.A., English literature; minor in comparative religion (3.74 GPA) Penn State University - Master of International Affairs, focusing on international security and the Middle East (3.7 GPA)
Experience
I tutored students in French during my undergraduate studies and have taken workshops on skills focusing on improving organization and managing a college schedule. I believe that it is more important for people to learn how to think rather than what to think, and tutoring is a way to help others do that. I am passionate about the subjects I studied and enjoy discussing them. I have taken classes on American and British literature, literary and critical/cultural theory, creative writing, and religious studies. When I pursued my master's, I studied international affairs and focused on the Middle East, grand strategy, and international security. I stay very up-to-date on current political events. I have also edited three books (one monograph, an introduction to U.S. law, and the Routledge Companion to Literature and Human Rights) and am working on a fourth (another compilation), and I can format works of writing according to various citation styles (Chicago and MLA, primarily).
