Experience

I am a Naturopathic Doctor, but I enjoy teaching and learning languages. My wife is Hungarian and I've been teaching her Mandarin. Like you, I am also a student of languages, I am still trying to improve my French and Hungarian. I was a TA in Communication Studies throughout university and I enjoyed helping my fellow colleagues work through difficult concepts. I also teach nutrition and basic science courses at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in Toronto. I like to make my tutoring sessions interesting, interactive and clinical applicable so that my students can see the whole picture and yet still have a solid foundation. I am an audio-visual learner, so naturally, my teaching style is also based on visuals, audible communication as well as kinesthetic learning. I believe in learning by doing, as practice makes perfect. A typical class will include some study material as a guide, but a lot more interactive communication, recreating and practising real-life scenarios where the language is used including understanding its nuances and colloquial slang. If possible, I would also like to arrange field trips to places where the student can fully immerse themselves and practice using the language. My classes are most suitable for beginner and intermediate learners who want to raise their skills to a fluent level.
