Experience

-Nearly ten years of tutoring experience, with a focus on university essay writing and GRE preparation -Experienced tutor in English (including literature, analysis, reading comprehension, and writing skills), Media Studies, History, Art History, and other humanities subjects -Four years experience lecturing in a university setting -Four years of academic mentorship -A published author -Exceptional writing skills -Obtained over CA$ 100,000 in academic grants and scholarships -I spent 5 years living in the UK/EU and am able to help students who are looking to apply to European universities. My goal as an educator is to always prioritize my students' learning outcomes. I believe in teaching my students not only the information required to pass their test, but also fundamental study skills that they will retain throughout their lives. My hope is that, in mastering study skills, increasing vocabulary, and developing reading comprehension and critical analysis abilities, my students will leave my supervision with the skills they need to succeed! -Importantly, I teach students HOW to study, rather than relying strictly on memorization. -I build confidence and give students the ability to believe in themselves and their own skills. -I identify areas in which they are struggling and come up with a personalized plan for each student, in order to catch them up with their curriculum and prepare them for challenges ahead. -Another priority is to help the student relate their studies to their own life; to understand the humanities in a practical way, which ultimately aids them in retaining their knowledge. I am happy to provide letters of recommendation from former students upon request. Rates: $85 for 1 hour $120 for 1.5 hour $160 for 2 hour I am willing to commute 45 mins from downtown Toronto by car. Extra $10 charge for areas outside this boundary.
