I was employed as a teaching assistant (TA), during my days as a graduate student at both McMaster University and UofT - I have had the pleasure of mentoring several undergrad students during my time as a Ph.D student at UofT. I also have a genuine passion for teaching and with over a decade of experience in leading scientific research, I have a unique talent for simplifying complex information and making it more accessible to students such that they can easily grasp difficult scientific concepts and develop a genuine appreciation and love for science. As a Teaching assistant at McMaster University, my responsibilities were: - Leading weekly tutorials for a group of 40-50 students - Mentoring students on their academic needs and providing critical feedback on their performance - Educating students on the scientific method and critical thinking - Grading quizzes, assignments and exams - Invigilating exams As a teaching assistant in the department of Molecular Genetics at UofT, I was responsible for: - Grading monthly quizzes, short essays and final exams - Providing critical feedback to students on their performance This experience has helped me immensely to hone my skills as a tutor and has helped me develop different teaching models and tutoring aids depending upon the needs of different students. My charge is $50/hr with additional charges applying for any travel >15min. E-transfer is acceptable. However, for the first two sessions, I require payment by cash.
