Teaching and forming relationships with children and youth has been a passion of mine since I can remember. I believe that creating a positive environment where children and youth can feel comfortable is the first step in creating success academically for them. I believe that my knowledge of fostering academic success in students will lead to an increase in your child's academic progress. I believe that my experience teaching in the classroom makes me more qualified and experienced compared to the other tutors available. I understand what teachers look for in their students and what they expect from them. I also understand the Ontario Curriculum for each grade, as this is what teachers base their units and lesson plans off of. My practice teaching has been at King Edward Public School in Toronto Ontario. The following are what grades and subjects I have taught: - Full day kindergarten class for 4 weeks, where I taught Mathematics and worked with students one on one doing reading diagnostics - Grade 1 class for 6 weeks, where I taught Mathematics and Physical Education - Grade 4/5 class for 4 weeks, where I taught Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science At the end of each of my teaching practices, I have gotten positive remarks from my associate teachers and the principal of the school. Hobbies of mine include playing and organizing competitive sporting matches, coding, and reading professional articles on how to be a better educator!
