Experience
I began professionally tutoring at Oxford Learning Centre in 2010, where I developed my teaching skills over the next four years. This time was invaluable to my evolution as a teacher, as it allowed me to turn my passion for education into practice. As the French Coordinator, I oversaw every French student's progress in adherence to the Ontario French Immersion and French Core Curriculum, while simultaneously tutoring French and English students in grades 1 through 12. During my Master’s degree, I started offering private tutor lessons. I plan to return to school to complete a Masters in Teaching so that I can receive more hands-on teaching experience. In the meantime, I am starting a tutoring business to continue my passion for teaching. My goal is to complete a PhD in Education, focusing primarily on curriculum studies and the evolution of teaching methods. At the university level, I specialize in English and Publishing related courses. I also have experience with essay writing techniques like research, organization, and style in all Humanities courses. At the elementary and high school level, I have experience teaching French, English, Math, Science, History, and Social Studies. I specialize in language and communication, helping to improve student’s academic and creative writing, grammar and punctuation, and reading comprehension. I also cater to students who are looking for organizational help. I incorporate new and engaging learning strategies into my teaching and firmly believe that strongly developed learning skills and techniques are integral to a student’s success.
