Education

I graduated from the University of Waterloo as a Mathematics major and Chemistry specialist with a GPA of 3.3. I am currently pursuing a BASc in Chemical Engineering at the same institution with a 3.45 GPA and hope to pursue a Ph.D. in Education someday.

Experience

I want to be a tutor because I have a passion for learning and sharing knowledge. I thoroughly enjoy being a student in university and I hope to enlighten a similar curiosity in my students. I wish to pursue a career in education in the future. I have practical teaching experience as an Engineering Outreach Instructor at the University of Toronto since May 2014, in which capacity I'm responsible for designing courses for students in grades 3-9, making modifications to course materials to accommodate students with special needs, demonstrating the practical applications of course materials, and encouraging students to collaborate effectively. I have also been a private high school tutor since January 2017, gaining firsthand experience writing mock exams and designing assignments.

Hobbies

When I am in school, I play Intramural volleyball and dodgeball. I will be coming up to my 10th year of competitive volleyball. I am very much an outdoor-sy person. I love being out in the sun and playing a game of basketball, football, or soccer. When I can't go outside, you may find me chowing down an unimaginable amount of food or trying to burn those calories at the gym. I will be approaching my 2nd year as a pescatarian. In other words, fish and eggs are my only meat sources. In time, I am hoping to become vegetarian. I first began this quest to vegetarianism when I studied about the negative impact conventional agriculture and farming have on the environment. With time, my reasons for seeking a vegetarian diet expanded for animal protection and health. Of course, I won't lie and say that a juicy burger does not tempt me when it most definitely does! However, I believe I can uphold my beliefs for something that is equally delicious!
