Heather H.
Private tutor in Toronto, Canada
Education
I am a recent graduate from the University of Toronto, where I specialized in philosophy. I graduated with high distinction and a cumulative GPA of 3.76. I also attended Seneca College for a year prior to enrolling at the University of Toronto. I graduated from my program with high honours and a cumulative GPA of 4.00.
Experience
I have several years experience tutoring at the post-secondary level. Throughout my six years at the University of Toronto, I assisted students with academic writing, and also coordinated with faculty to organize study sessions for philosophy courses that lacked a tutorial. I have taken many of the philosophy classes offered at UTSC, and have volunteered as an accessibility notetaker for several philosophy courses offered at the St. George campus. I have also completed three independent studies at the graduate level. I have also participated in various language exchange activities, most often working with Japanese adults. I love learning, and I am passionate about helping others to learn, as I find teaching material forces one to reconsider it from a fresh perspective. I hope to pursue my PhD in philosophy in the near future so that I can teach at the university level.

Hobbies
I am charismatic, personable and genuinely enjoy working with students. When I am not in school or pursuing philosophy in my free time, I like to read, play the occasional video game, cook, and work on improving my Japanese. I like to get involved with causes I believe in, and have founded two student organizations at U of T, both of which are still active and successful. I also enjoy traveling, though I tend not to have the time to do it very frequently. I love exploring new places and immersing myself in foreign cultures.
